I made this lady a sundae today and she posted a picture of it on facebook, and now it’s on the Sweet Pete’s Facebook page, and they’re calling me creative.
I am the sundae MASTER.
It’s just undercooked, and more like a syrup than a chew.
I altered the recipe because I didn’t want a full batch (about 200 pieces) so I about cut it in half, and this left me a little unsure about the cook time. I cooked it up to the same temperature because that’s a given, but I think the main issue was just that it cooked to quickly. I had the heat on too high for too long, and so while it reached the right temperature, it didn’t do so effectively.
Either way, I’ll work on it more and perfect it, and then maybe share it with you guys so you can have your own caramel at home~
Dad loooooves it and will probably enjoy some on his froyo.
He had to make a deposit,
and the woman behind the counter, when finished, suddenly says
“You guys want some candy? I have a, erm, huge bag here, I’ve just been munching away.”
So we got three handfuls of candy, and I am so content.
It’s all Willy Wonka candy too.
